Workforce Development

Matrix On Board Training (Matrix) has been working with Governments at all levels since 2006 to develop non-profit organisations and services in a range of sectors in response to policy changes.

Commencing with the NSW government to build the business capability of their Child Care services Matrix developed a business planning toolkit and rolled out training to over 150 Child Care centres across the state of NSW in a six month period.

This was closely followed by supporting the rollout of new Financial Capability Services across regional and remote communities around Australia.  For five years Matrix engaged with the sector to implement a very successful workforce development program that saw the sector grow from 10 staff in two services to 151 staff across 29 organisations.  Matrix provided accredited and non-accredited training, practice guidelines and tools and resources to support program implementation.

In 2017 the Department of Social Services (DSS) provided funding to Matrix to deliver the ER Workforce Development and Capacity Building program aimed at supporting organisations, volunteers and staff to meet the needs of people requiring emergency relief.  This program involved a research component before the development of a complete training program and roll out of face to face training.  This has also seen the development of an easily accessible online training portal and a service review and development portal.

Matrix will also be working closely with the ER sector to assist organisations to be prepared for adaptations to policy that may be rolled out in the future. These policy changes may require organisations to implement changes to their service model and practices to ensure that services are appropriately targeted and service integration is strengthened.

Matrix presently offers training and services in the following areas: Emergency Relief and Financial Capability Sector workforce development.
