Nerida Nettelbeck
Director

Nerida has worked in non-profit organisations since managing the reporting team at World Vision in the early 90’s. She has applied her knowledge and skills in the establishment and growth of many non-profit organisations and her enduring passion is in creating social enterprises using her head and her heart. 

Nerida’s work at Matrix focuses on bringing the benefits of strong business practice and forging pathways for those on the margins to apply them to their own social purposes.  Nerida works alongside people and organisations in their development and enjoys the results that only good collaboration can bring. 

Nerida’s experience spans Aboriginal Organisations, International Development, Psychiatric and Physical Disability Employment, Social Enterprise, Health and Community Service Organisations.

Sally Clifford
General Manager, Consulting

Sally has a strong background working as CEO and on Boards with a wide cross-section of community organisations in Queensland, Western Australia and Northern Territory. In particular, Sally has a long history of working with young people, remote Indigenous communities, and with art programs operating in health settings. She has designed and facilitated large research and evaluation programs, creative art programs, governance programs and other collaborations to grow sustainable corporations which meet community needs.

Sally brings a grounded and practical understanding of what it takes to secure funding streams, engage and manage staff and  build a sustainable organisation. She has a particular interest in working with Aboriginal corporations and their Boards to build confidence and skill sets in governance and financial literacy. A core belief behind her work is  that a thriving, healthy and safe society is supported by a diverse and sustainable non-profit sector.

Special Skills: Group facilitation, strategic and business planning, community consultation and engagement, organisational reviews and analysis, board governance and senior manager coaching.

Qualifications: Master of Arts (Arts in Healthcare), Postgraduate Certificate in Business (Non-Profit and Philanthropy), Bachelor of Arts (Honors); all at QUT.

Kate Horsey
Business Manager, Consulting

Kate manages our consulting business, including business development, managing our internal systems and quality processes and building client relationships. Kate is an experienced consultant, trainer and facilitator who has worked across many sectors, both commercial and not for profit. While her predominant discipline is strategic human resources, she also has extensive experience in marketing, sales, business development and strategy.

Special skills: Strategic HR, training, facilitation, client relationships

Qualifications: Graduate Diploma Social Administration, University of Queensland; Graduate Diploma Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Swinburne University; Bachelor of Design Studies (Architecture), University of Queensland.

Felicity Blackadder
Consulting Associate

Felicity has more than 12 years’ experience as an HR professional working in senior HR management and generalist roles in employment and community services, state and local government and the hospitality industry. Her expertise is in partnering with business to deliver high quality, best practice people management solutions. She has significant knowledge and expertise across the full range of strategic and operational human resource management functions including recruitment, retention, learning and development, performance management, industrial relations, workforce planning, leadership development, remuneration, conflict resolution and organisation cultural change.

Special skills: Strategic HR, operational HR and people management functions, industrial relations, facilitation, training

Qualifications: Bachelor of Business (winner of the Business medal); Master of Human Resource Management; CAHRI.
